@Background Pony #5DA8
She learned some basic engineering principles from an earth pony carpenter who was trying to help her learn how to use magic to make his own creations better.

Serious answer: Sleep around with stallions and smuggle contraband with a small crew of criminals. She quit that life after getting pregnant because she wanted something better for her daughter and enrolled in engineering classes. She doesn’t actually know who the father is, but there’s a narrow range of candidates based on the timing of the pregnancy.
Yes and no. Scarlet had a close relationship with Jupiter prior to getting her job as the Chief Royal Engineer, when Jupiter was ~5 years old, and she was a good mom up until that point, but ever since then, Scarlet has been a workaholic and a pretty terrible mother. The whole point of her story arc is that she comes to terms with the damage she’s done to their relationship and starts taking steps to correct it.

That would depend entirely on the motor. Internal combustion engines would not exist in the specific alternate universe that she inhabits, but steam powered engines are involved in some of her designs

Yes. She’s independently wealthy, attractive, and single, so she tends to end up getting a lot of attention for any number of reasons.
@Background Pony #5DA8
Absolutely everything would fall apart. Scarlet would not be able to handle lacking access to her magic–she’s basically built her entire life around arcane machinery. Jupiter would hate the attention that her mother gets, because the only attention she wants is the attention she goes out of her way to get (read: causing trouble), and generally hates the kind of attention that her mother gets from stallions.
@Background Pony #5DA8
Not particularly; what stresses her out is her home life and dealing with her teenage daughter who doesn’t respect her (not that she’s honestly done anything to earn respect)

Arcane Engineering, specifically. Specializing in the intersection of magic and technology. Occupationally, she’s the Chief Royal Engineer of Canterlot, and is basically responsible for maintaining the persistent spellwork that keeps Canterlot from just crashing down the side of the mountain.
@Scarlet Ribbon
I use gemini and meta.ai to edit my hand drawn art but both refuse to generate anything that looks like actual ponies and neither seem to allow video generation. at least not in their free modes. how much does it cost to get gemini to make video?
@Background Pony #268E
Generally good-hearted, but too prone to being self-absorbed in her engineering work, which causes a rift in her relationship with her daughter. She’s also a single mother and is generally constantly trying to find the next good stallion to try and patch the big relationship hole in her heart… Which mostly means she is prone to unhealthy attachments far too quickly.
I have… A lot… Of notes about her and her daughter.
Yes. He is one of the potential fathers, too. He isn’t, though.
was the carpenter good to her?

did she only learn about engineering after the classes? did she already have some knowhow prior?

yay
No. It gives me something to do.
does it bother you that i keep asking?
did scarlet and jupiter get along better in the past?
That would depend entirely on the motor. Internal combustion engines would not exist in the specific alternate universe that she inhabits, but steam powered engines are involved in some of her designs
Edited
does she like motored vehicles?
Nope. I don’t generally in my headcanon
does she build robots?
Yes. She’s independently wealthy, attractive, and single, so she tends to end up getting a lot of attention for any number of reasons.
does scarlet like the attention she gets from stallions? what kind of attention is it?

how would she and her daughter act in a freaky friday situation?
Not particularly; what stresses her out is her home life and dealing with her teenage daughter who doesn’t respect her (not that she’s honestly done anything to earn respect)
is that a stressful job for her?

I’m paying $20/mo, IIRC. If you have 24 GB of VRAM, I strongly recommend getting into local gen for ponies, though.
