I don’t really mind honestly, I’m all for it , especially if it means more Sunburst representation, even if it’s AI generated :3c
Personally I think this image looks pretty nice, might be worth some tweaking with inpaint or some manual painting on the front legs? Being upscaled and denoised could do it some good too maybe.
I guess considering there’s not that big a pool of images to pull Sunburst from for an AI model, it’s probably fair to assume this probably generation took quite a bit from that one pic — I’m not sure what Derpis’ policy is on it but if you think it’s fair and it eases concerns, it could get an extra artist tag?
Anyway, thanks for your concern and reaching out, I don’t really mind AI much one way or the other~

True, it is also a common pose and angle. Just like how cereal box mascots look over a bowl with an excited open mouth. If you run art ai to do something similar, it’ll look close to existing cereal boxes.

Hm, you know, it is rather uncanny. Though the differences in the butt, the face, and especially the legs and (lack of) torso has me thinking it’s likely just a coincidence, or an amalgam of other lying ponies.
Still, I think I’ll contact the original artist of that pic and ask if they want this image taken down. The resemblance aside, I don’t really like this piece much anyway. It’s blurry and melty and the face looks all kinds of wrong.

It’s one thing to have been one artist in the sea of millions who contributed to the general knowledge of an image AI, but it’s another thing if it (looks like it) copies existing work directly. A priori, it’s a valid concern.
like said is still just good art regadless

This technology is interesting and I’m just making observations. I like to understand it more as this is rapidly progressing.
