The idea of white/black as good/evil is older than skin color. It comes from the ancient fear of the dark. The night/dark was something to fear for early humanity. Day/Light was something good because it made the dark go away.

To apply this logic to skin/fur color is the racist part. What you just assumed of the creators, implying they think that way. I think that its pretty insulting.
