One thing I notice in computer generated images is that, when not looking at the viewer or something horizontally aligned, the character(s) often don't seem to be looking (at least not directly) at the subjects they are supposedly looking at. In this image for example, Zelda seems to be looking at where she is petting Twilight. Twilight is looking at Celestia. But then Celestia is looking off into the distance as if she sees some other pony coming instead of looking at Twilight. Or she could have spotted some cake crumbs on Zelda's shoulder.
