Perhaps a very forgettable individual will come along, engage her in discussing a matter that, while of no lasting importance, will nevertheless full take up her attention. At the end of the day she will discover her stock gone from the jars, but a tightly a generous amount of bits, tightly wrapped and padded so as to make no sound when carried, even at a gallop, in the bottom of one of them.
If so, it would then seem the local ninja clan knows the alchemical secret of extracting the moon beams from the mixture, giving them a valuable material for dyeing their stealth suits and preparing obscurement bombs, for when they need to be truly unseen, rather than merely overlooked.
EDIT: Alternatively, perhaps a scientist will come by and request funding to research that same extractive technique, but at a much more thorough level, so as to created the magical counterpart to [vantablack](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/VANTA Bantablack), for use in observatory telescopes.
