Well, some people put shooting stars they catch into their pockets to ssve them for a rainy day. Ponies have hammerspace, and I guess Pipette can access hers via her ears.

I think the aurorae move at a slow but noticeable speed on Earth… and IIRC so does the aurora coming off of the spire of the thing that Cadance and Shiny live in. Also, Princess Celestia’s mane and tail, which are basically the aurora are in constant motion.

Still a beautiful picture of course!
