Description
Having played around with Nano Banana Pro for a while, I gotta say, having some easy “continuity” makes AI a lot more fun :) Here’s how you can easily create a character reference with Banano for consistent look:
Reference of <character> [from <franchise>] [in this style]1 in three projections: front, rear, side; on a white background. <She/He> is standing at attention with neutral expression. No text[, other negatives].
<clothing/accessories/other features>
[art style description]2
1 if providing ref image for style
2 if not providing ref image for style
2 if not providing ref image for style
For better style consistency it is preferable to provide a reference image, especially if you’re making several characters (the image doesn’t have to be of the character, but it can introduce side effects if it isn’t; you can mitigate that by providing extra positive/negative descriptions). When using generated references, it is best to explicitly explain that the ref is one character in three projections, as Banano can sometimes mistake it for three separate characters. Something like: “The first image is a character reference in three projections. Draw this character … <rest of prompt>”
Note: while Banano is an extremely powerful model, it still makes all the usual ai derps. Ensure that the projections are actually consistent with each other. It may take a few tries/prompt adjustments, but usually, it catches on pretty quickly.
