Griffins are very fond of shiny trinkets. That is why Gilda, having accidentally stumbled upon the cursed Ring of Petrification, could not resist the temptation to try it on.
She knew that the magic of such rings was very weak: it affected only a few inches of the body and the effect quickly subsided after removing the ring.
Therefore, Gilda considered such a fitting to be absolutely safe. There’s absolutely nothing to worry about, is there?

I’m currently working on a two-panel AI comic with Ember where this pretty dragoness gets seriously stuck while taking a bath.

She just hasn’t tried to remove the ring yet.
When she tries, she will discover that the petrified toes have become much larger, and now she can’t tear the ring off her paws or her paws off the ground.
